Hey race fans!

As some of you may know, Lisa has stepped down as the Junior Member co-ordinator this season and, as I was assisting her last year, I have decided to step up and take on the role.

I originally got involved with the Junior Members because Lisa needed somebody to help her out and my Dad, who is a SNZ official, volunteered me.

My name is Kaitlin, I’m 18 years old and I go to Nayland College.

During the school holidays I got busy coming up with pre-race activity ideas. Some of the things we will be doing this season are water fights (when it gets warmer!), laser tag and painting and decorating a Derby car!

But not all the activities will be so full on eg. colouring in and biscuit decorating.

Other things involved with being a Junior Member are birthday draws so you’ll get a present on your birthday, a Christmas Party at Pro Karts and you could also be in the float we enter into the Santa parade if you want to be. (Only up to the age of 12 years).

There are membership forms available from the souvenir shop — it’s $10 each or $15 with a t-shirt which are  almost ready for you. A massive thank you to Nelson Speedway and the Sponsors who make the Junior Members happen.

I look forward to seeing you all there each race night.  — Kaitlin
